Our Gratitude

We opted to create this page to express our humble gratitude & emotional indebtedness to all those who have supported, mentored, & inspired us to pursue our passion or “Fancy” of this wonderful and unique breed; the Alaskan Klee Kai.

We owe a great debt of gratitude to the breeders whose work has produced the fine dogs we enjoy today. I would like to take a moment to honor the breeders who made our dogs possible. Some of them are no longer with us, but their legacy lives on. Thank you, for trusting us with your dogs as our foundation stock so that we may continue to work in the promotion and preservation of this wonderful breed.

Carol Din at Widdershin estates entrusted us with our very first Alaskan Klee Kai CH'PR'Widdershins sweet Sung Lyrics who we lovingly call Akira. She has thrown 100% perfectly marked puppies which are known for their jet black coats and strong full masks. She is our foundation female. She is wonderful with children, and is like another set of eyes for me if the baby cries or someone suspicious comes to the door. She has a wonderful "Nanny" personality. She is the warm spot on my bed and we will always be her forever home. ARBA & UKC CH'PR'Widderhins Sweet sung Lyrics will always be a treasured member of our home. For all this, and much, much more, thank you Carol.

Kenny & Gail Compton at Shalimar Acres entrusted us with our first male "Nanuk". He has thrown 100% perfectly marked puppies which are also known for their jet black coats and strong full masks. Although Nanuk was a full coat he threw 100% short coated perfectly marked healthy puppies. He was our foundation male. Although he did not have but a few litters before we retired him to Colorado, some of the pups and even grand puppies are doing well in the conformation ring and in agility competition today. Nanuk's new owners wrote to us that Nanuk was tragically killed in a boarding facility. Luckily we see his movement "living on" every time we look at his daughter Kasha, or grandaughter Jada. We also have his grandson "Hemi" with friends locally to visit and play with. For all this, and much, much more, thank you Kenny and Gail Compton for trusting us with our beloved and very missed little man, "Nanuk". Also known as "CH'PRShalimar's Just Grin N Bear It".

Carroll Parkison entrusted us with our second female "Mariah" AKA "Ariah". In her short breeding and showing career here she got to #3 in the nation from a single show! Of her total of four puppies, 2 are champions, 1 needs needs one more win, and one went to a pet home. We have retained her daughter Rogue in our breeding program. Her other daughter Kasha earned her Championship title then when into agility where she excels. Chibi, her third daughter is in a wonderful home and is probably the best trained AKK I have ever seen. Her temperament is outstanding.  "Ariah" also now has several grandbabies in agility. Ariah was retired from breeding and lives with some friends Ron & Lisa Chan. Because of her there are a lot of happy agility folks out there. Her grandchildren include "Hemi" and "Falcon". The solid bone and wonderful movement she brought to our program lives on. The first AKK litter we ever had Carroll was up with me all through the night on the phone. She was a dear friend to Chris and I and the AKK community took a huge loss when she passed away. For all this, and much, much more, thank you Carroll for trusting us with "Mariah". Also known as "CH'PRWacos Eye of the Storm V. Del Mar".

Karen Street from Aliak Kennels. I have been in the AKK community for about 6 years now. And in all I have seen I can say, you cant find a better breeder than Karen Street. She really stands behind the quality of every puppy that leaves her home. The movement and temperament on her dogs is amazing and truly the rest of us should try to emulate her program. She is a wonderful breeder, and person, and to her we are very grateful for our current stud "Loki" as well as all the wonderful puppies he has produced since being in our home. Among my favorites are "Piko", "Hemi", "Falcon", "Milo", "Kaito" and "Logan". Loki is my best friend, my favorite AKK. He loves agility, he is wonderful in obedience, and he is great in the show ring.  Karen, I can never thank you enough for the dog of my dreams "LOKI" also known as "CH'PR Aliak's LokStok N SmoKn Del Mar".

Susan Hawk from Kon's Kennels. I have been in the AKK community for about 6 years now. And in all I have seen I can say, you cant find a sweeter more sincere and honest person than Susan Hawk. Susan always puts the "dogs first" in everything she does. She is very active in agility and in fact got the first Agility title on any Alaskan Klee Kai in the world! She is one of those homes you "WISH" you could put a dog with because you know that dog will be well love and kept very active. From her she gave us a very special treasure, our red Alaskan Klee Kai toy female Tikanni. Tikanni is very small and VERY active she is an amazing agility dog although does not compete yet. The red dogs are extremely rare in our breed, she was the 7th surviving red born in the world at the time. And the fact that Susan would trust us with such a rare and precious jewel, is well, amazing. Susan, we can never thank you enough for our precious treasure "Tikanni". We enjoy her intelligence and loving personality every day. She is also known as "PR'Kon-Aurora Tikanni V. Del Mar".

Sapphira came to us from Cindy Hernandez when Cindy closed her kennel down. Our first little light grey darling. She won two competition wins which count to her Championship at her very first show, the UAKKA specialty in Ca. She was two years old when we purchased her, and her movement is JUST incredible! We love her wolf-like look and and we are very grateful to Cindy for placing this little girl with us. She is on our bike-jorring team and is wonderful with other dogs and children! And MY GOD can she move, the best in the pack at any speed.  Thank you Cindy!

Kaloni came to us from Desarie Fletcher one of the nations top show breeders.  We fell in love with her after meeting her at the 2008 AKKAOA specialty where she won a Best in Show in a multi breed show. She listens well, has an outstanding temperament, ideal movement, and has become one of my daughters favorite dogs to handle in Juniors. She is what you call a "push button" dog. She shows herself, its just up to you to not screw it up;)!  She was born of another kennel Bob & Betty Cook. After Bob passed away I had been keeping my eye out to try to get one of his babies, and just like that Kaloni was offered to us. We are eternally grateful to Desarie for placing this spectacular dog with us, we will continue to cherish her as now she is one of our own family members and one of the most spoiled dogs we have;). But she's WELL worth it! THANK YOU DESARIE!

I used to talk to Bob & Bette Cook on and off over the years then Bob passed away and the entire community was devastated. I met Kaloni a "Cook Dog" at the AKKAOA specialty in 2008. I was so impressed by her and her temperament I had to have her and bought her from Desirae Fletcher. Kaloni was such a wonderful addition to our pack, I then bought my second Cook X Pakk dog in spring of 2009 from Cathy Petite. Both dogs certainly have what we have come to refer as the "Cook Temperament" intelligent, calm, and very loving dogs. Bless Bob & Bette Cook for doing such a great job with temperament in their line over all these years, we are grateful to you both for improving on this breed. And Bob, we sure miss you!
